Blue Angel

So, this novel is absolutely breath-taking. From the very beginning you know how it ends but it does not keep it from being an interesting read. The book was recommended to me from our beloved Dr. Ellington, and I gotta say, the woman must have me pegged because from the very beginning I couldn’t put it down.

Because this novel is fucking amazing, I decided I’d make a little somethin’ somethin’ book talk about it.

The novel is a graphic one (and I mean that in both senses of the word, it’s literally a graphic novel and it has LOTS of sex. No complaints on my part, jes’ sayin’) and the illustrations and artwork is extremely beautiful. Most of the novel is in grayscale with mostly only blues showing up, including one of the protagonist’s hair throughout a majority of it. (Seen below)

As I said. Beautiful.

As I said. Beautiful.

It is about a couple of the same sex and their journey through life. It touches on not only the struggles of having a same-sex relationship through the eyes of society and the families as most gay mediums do, but it also touches on their own personal issues.

Actually…you know what? It’s hard to do a book talk about this book because I don’t want to say too much about it other than YOU WILL MOST LIKELY CRY LIKE I DID. I was little baby. And I knew what was going to happen. Literally anyone who opens the book up to the first page knows what will happen. So if you don’t like crying, don’t read it. Though, I suggest you do anyway.

That being said, I don’t think I can do a proper book talk on this particular graphic novel. I’m just gonna pull a Dr. Ellington and grunt at you whilst trying to force the book into your hands. Tune in next time for probably more graphic novel stuff although those aren’t the only things I read!
